Mario Judah – Die Very Rough

Okay, I know. Yes, his delivery is cartoonishly overstated.  The first time I heard it, my sides were hurting from laughing so hard.  And yes, he does sing like a Disney villain (“Yoouu have been muhwooiinnee”).  But at least he CAN sing like a Disney villain.  Plus, Emo rap, even at its best, is still incredibly melodramatic.  So having that in mind, I am 1000% behind this guy going the distance and hamming his performance as much as he possibly could.  The dude’s vibrato makes Scar from the Lion King sound like Siri.  If you closed your eyes and you didn’t put all of your attention into his ridiculously campy delivery and the really great music video, you could hear how immaculately this beat was produced.  The strings backdrop is perfectly eerie and gave just enough space for the really detailed and catchy drum programming and vocal effects to keep the track engaging.  Plus that hook? Do not be fooled by Mario Judah’s vocal delivery.  You’re listening to a hit song with a ton of replay value (and meme potential)
